Steve Schwartz

LION operates in three markets:  the emergency services, industrial safety and military markets.  In the emergency service markets, LION and its' affiliates are the largest provider of the firefighters' personal protective equipment (PPE) in the world, outfitting more of the world's largest cities than any other company.  LION has also led the global industry with its LION TotalCare® service program for PPE that LION now provides to over 40,000 firefighters around the world.  Also serving the emergency services and industrial market, LION brand fire training products are the world standard because of their realism, reliability and safety.  In the military market, over the past decades LION and its' affiliates have become famous as a world class provider of military logistics management services through LION's TotalCare® military contracts with the German Bundeswehr and LION LVI Group's contract with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Steve has earned progressively greater responsibilities as a 4th generation member of his family's business, where he started his career in 1989.  For the first decade, he worked in the company's uniform division on the client reporting team, as the head of plant scheduling, and finally as a sales executive.  In 1998 he was named Senior Vice President of the protective clothing business before being named Executive Vice President of LION in 2002.  In 2006, he was appointed President and CEO.  During this time, Steve has led the company's development of innovative products and services that have changed the playing field in LION's markets, and has led the expansion of the company internationally, built 5 joint ventures and made 5 acquisitions. 

Before joining LION, Steve served as a co-founder and Vice President of a New York City-based local area networking consulting company. 

Steve graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Swarthmore College (Swarthmore, PA) and received his MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management (Evanston, IL).

Steve lives in Cincinnati, OH with his partner, Felice Marcus.  Steve has two adult children:  Olivia and Sam.
